On the 23rd of September an exciting new initiative was launched: the Circular Wind Guide!
Together with Vattenfall, Business in wind and Heerema the launch was during the EoLO-HUBs even in Hamburg.
This Circular Wind Guide aims to inspire and provide concrete examples to strengthen and guide businesses, policymakers, and knowledge institutes towards a circular practice in the wind industry.
Now that the growing demand for wind farm related materials is undeniable, stakeholders of wind industry are highly motivated in increasing the circularity and sustainability of wind farms. This is important as the resources of our planet are limited and therefore, we need to apply circular strategies not only at End-of-Life (EoL) stage of wind farms, but already at design phase. However, taking the necessary steps towards a circular practice within organizations in the wind industry might often not be that easy implemented.
Businesses are still struggling with knowhow and options. On the other hand, policy makers often lack a good understanding of the variety of existing and available Circular Strategies, and how they are already implemented successfully across different lifetime phases and by different actors in the supply chain. The showcases inside the Circular Wind Guide provide real-life examples of implemented Circular Strategies [make link] providing new industry baselines for researchers to lean on. The guide informs both the industry as well as both policy makers within the area of circularity.
Maybe your organization already has a circular practice that covers one or more of the Circular Strategies, If that is the case we might show your practice at the Guide. Please reach out to us.
